NoLRA logoWednesday 7th August 7.30pm

This meeting will be an Extraordinary General Meeting to determine with future of NoLRA.

Whilst we have not had a public meeting for some time, the committee feel it is important to keep the group together even when there are few important issues to address. That way, when the estate does face a problem, NoLRA is in a position to fight on the residents behalf.

In order to continue positively, NoLRA needs volunteer members. It doesn’t take much effort, please come and say hello at the meeting.

origami rhino by David BrillSunday 21st July 1-4pm

Ever wanted to learn the Japanese art of Origami (paper-folding)? Now's your chance! Local expert and origami professional Nick Robinson (50+ books on the subject) and other experienced folders will be present to show you how easy it really is. No experience needed and paper will be provided.

If you have any models you are "stuck" with, bring the diagrams along, we'll show you how to finish them. Some examples of more advanced designs will be on display.

This event is open to all, but we especially welcome those who have a real desire to learn about the subject. Children are welcome, but remember we're not a creche facility - you should stay and fold with your children.

Below is a simple design you can practise with! For more information on folding, please visit the British Origami Society website.

Music at Bishops House presents Innercity, Modulator ESP plus Martin Archer/Nick Robinson

poster11th may 2013 @ 7.30pm

Some cutting-edge creative music is being offered again as part of Music at Bishops House. As part of their UK tour, Innercity and Modulator ESP will be visiting Sheffield to play a sepcial concert for us. Supporting will be Sheffield's own Martin Archer and Nick Robinson. The date will be Saturday 11th May.

Innercity is the grey child of Hans Dens, from Antwerp, Belgium, prodigiously translating his vision journeys to auditory dream-language since 2008. Early releases are mostly experiments on the influence of various psychoactive substances, released under different moniker on Dens’ cassette-label Why So Serious? (2008-2010).

Since February 2013 HD teamed up with Bart (Youngherr) Sloow to be able to perform as a full blown psychedelic rock outfit. The duo has since recorded a 7" for Great Pop Supplement's offspring DEEP DISTANCE and a full album called 'Return Of The Solar Falcons", to be released on cassette by Sloow Tapes for the upcoming May/June concerts. The duo blends a violent share of "standard” Innercity, spontaneous prog rock simulation and oriental mysticist dada. To be an experiential and psychedelic live experience
Modulator ESP produces improvised experimental soundscapes using synthesizers, sampling, sequencing, looping and processing to create strange worlds of sound somewhere between '70s space music, noise and dark ambient drone.  He produces a fortnightly show at called Adventures In Sound, improvising an hour of live music for each episode, all of which are available to download.

He has supported acts as diverse as Emeralds, The Freemen brothers, Formication, Circulus, Eli Keszler, Paul Nagle, Muscletusk, Radio Massacre International, Wolfram der Spyra, Stellar Om Source and Bernhard Wöstheinrich. He has headlined several small US tours culminating in performances at the electro-music festival, the highlight of one attendance was a collaborative performance with the late Richard Lainhart. He has performed in Holland at the e-day festival as part of Booth & Creek.

Nick Robinson has been playing his own brand of looped, treated and improvised guitar for nearly twenty years, releasing many CDs and tracks for the Chain-Tape Collective. Martin Archer is well-known to all lovers of challenging and richly diverse music, released via his own Discus label. They will be performing as a duo for the first time, although they have been together in various ensemble performances over the years.
